Milwaukee Public Libraries got louder than ever this past fall as they continued to host “Library Loud Days”, which are a succession of events in local Milwaukee public libraries that engage the Milwaukee community and make Milwaukee Public Libraries modern and culturally relevant destinations to visit and discover. This past year they gave Milwaukee teens the chance of a lifetime by hosting a live Rap Battle. The competition encouraged Milwaukee teens to record an original soundtrack for the chance to participate in the live Rap Battle where they were judged by a panel of professional sounds mixing professionals. The winner walked away with $1,000 and a chance to perform on Milwaukee’s 88Nine 414Live radio station. The competition received over 50 submissions and was followed by great enthusiasm from the whole Milwaukee community.
