5:30pm — 9:00pm
Big bots, little bots, pirate bots, superhero bots, mohawk bots — can you make a winning bot?
AIGA Wisconsin as part of their Design For Good initiative, and in partnership with Islands of Brilliance and UW-M presents, BATTLE OF THE CRITTERBOTS.
In congruence with National Autism Awareness month, BATTLE OF THE CRITTERBOTS is an evening to help bring awareness and gain volunteers for local organization Islands of Brilliance — who runs monthly experiential learning workshops in art, design, and technology designed specifically for children, teens, and young adults on the autism spectrum.
BATTLE OF THE CRITTERBOTS demonstrates the creative activities used in workshops and classes with Islands of Brilliance students by mirroring one of the past workshops led by Critterbot’s creator, UW-M design faculty member, Kim Beckmann
“Our hope for the evening is to educate designers on the ability to use their talents for good, and also what in return they will gain from being a volunteer — rejuvenation and inspiration for their own creative process.” — Mark Fairbanks, Co-founder and Executive Director of Islands of Brilliance
