The Internet domain company caused a stir with its annual Super Bowl spot, which appeared to parody Budweiser’s “Lost Dog” ads. Amid backlash from viewers, the company was forced to pull its planned “Journey Home” ad after more than 42,000 people signed a petition against the commercial for making light of puppy mills.

“What should have been a fun and funny ad clearly missed the mark and we will not air it,” GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving tweeted.
