So what’s in it for you?
Well, a lot.
Like any other club, we’re defined by our members. Unlike any other club, our members aren’t easily defined. We are creatives of all kinds; others are account service people. And there are plenty of media, interactive and production-types. Hell, even our vendors are in on this thing. We are a diverse collection of professionals, and it shows in our membership profile.
United Adworkers members are friendly people who are genuinely interested in seeing each other succeed. So when we network, it feels more like friends helping friends than trying to say just the right thing to land an interview.
Except for students—a well-timed compliment can go a long way. All kidding aside, students use our club to network with seasoned veterans who are approachable, helpful and encouraging. A big reason for our social events is to strengthen the relationships not just between students and professionals, but agencies and vendors as well as experienced pros and young up-and-comers.
We host the premier advertising awards show in Wisconsin, The Milwaukee 99. It’s an annual showcase of the best creative work Wisconsin has to offer—and a pretty good party to boot. Mark your calendars, because that shin dig is September 12th, 2013.
Our golf outing, held every June, is a blast (weather permitting of course) if you’re into average golf played by impressive ad people.
New social events (like Trivia Nights) are in the works that will give everyone plenty of chances to connect. Plus we’re currently lining up some great guest speakers for the coming months.
Amidst a community that has agencies in all around Milwaukee and surrounding areas, the United Adworkers is the glue that keeps it all together. So join today: 2013 is shaping up to be another terrific year.
