Design The New 2012 Membership Card

The members need a new 2012 Membership card and you could be the one to design it.
Enter your work by March 5th and the community will vote.

- 1 entry per person
- Dimensions: 3 3/8″ x 2 1/8″ – full color both sides
- Must include a space for the name
- Include “2012″ in the design
- Plastic Cards
Note: open to clear plastic cards too (no die cut designs)
- Must include Adworkers logo on card. Download Adworkers logo

All entries must be submitted by Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:59 pm CST

The Milwaukee 99 only comes once a year. But creativity, as you know, happens all year round. That’s why we added the big picture area above to show everyone the Milwaukee ad goodness. Now all we need is your submissions. Send jpgs of print stuff, screen grabs of web sites, and mpegs (16×9, H.264) of your TV/ video work. This may be the new adworkers web site, but everyone’s a part of it.

Ah, that new website smell. Kind of a cross between a sharpie and spray mount.

Welcome, members, friends and transients to the new site for the United Adworkers Local 208, AKA the Milwuakee Adworkers, AKA a club that if you don’t belong to it, you should. We’re the premier advertising/marketing club in Wisconsin and host the Milwaukee 99, the most prestigious award show in the state. Which, by the way, is September 17th — have you started putting together all the great work you’re going to enter? We alos have a little thing called a Golf outing at Mee-kwon golf course on June 17th. We’d really like you to blow off work on that day and join us. You were going to waste the day on Facebook and Twitter anyway, right?

As for the new site, it marks the dawn of a much needed internet overhaul for the Adworkers. For starters, we are dedicated to showcasing Milwaukee’s great creative work year round on our main page, as you see above. Please submit work and we’ll get it up there on a regular basis — once every month or so we’ll change stuff out. You’ll also find links to our Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr pages too. Are you not our Facebook friend? Not following us on Twitter? To stay up to date on all things Adworkers, you need to. As new stuff gets posted here, we’ll let you know. Thanks for visiting.

Our biggest night of the year is almost here. Join us this Thursday at 6:00pm at the Harley Museum for the celebration of some fine propaganda. The show will start around 7:30. And there will, of course, be an after party. Meet everyone at The Iron Horse once the show is done. Be sure to get your tickets now -they go up at the door.

BVK Wins! BVK Wins!

Bvk has won the coveted Adworkers Softball Championship. With both teams playing a great game, BVK took it on a 7-6 walk off in the last inning. Congratulations to both BVK and Versant for making it.

The Battle Has Been Postponed

Golf Outing 2009 Update

The fairways have been groomed, the carts have had their governors restricted, and the course officials have been briefed for an onslaught of hackers, duffers and the ~~occasional~~, make that extremely rare, scratch golfer. It can only mean one thing: the United Adworkers Golf Outing is almost here. Get your foursomes together for this annual ritual which can be best described as “interpretive golf”. Fabulous prizes will be awarded to the best team (it’s all relative), longest driver, best dresser, longest putt, and a number of other displays of “talent” at our new location: Currie Golf Course in Wauwatosa. Why a new course? I think you know exactly why. So bring your clients, pack some extra balls, and give your account execs an opportunity to show their worth. See you on the links.

Bowling Wrap Up

Thanks to those who took part in the 6th annual Adworker Bowling season. We hope you enjoyed playing and the opportunity to socialize with your fellow Adworkers. All in all, things went very smoothly. Unfortunately, not many people stuck around for the final results and awards. So here are the highlights… and one lowlight… Peter. (Note: Bowlers must have a minimum of 20 games to be eligible for any award. Except Peter. You’re in a league of your own.)

Highest Game Female: Jane Kramer – 211.
Highest Game Male: Mike Basse – 223.
Worst Game Ever: Peter Kim – 36. (How do you do that?)

3rd Place Team: Point-N-Shoots – 42 points and 15,786 pins.
2nd Place Team: Bader Rutter #1 – 49 points and 16,661 pins.
1st Place Team: The Misfits – 50 points and 18,915 pins.

Exercise next month. Put the new “diet” on the back burner. Drink less in 2010. New year’s resolutions are all fine and well, but the first thing you should really do for a better you is renew your United Adworkers membership. It’s painless, somewhat altruistic, and we don’t care how much you don’t exercise, eat or drink. And don’t forget, as the video below shows, we will find you. If you haven’t already looked at it, take a peak. A lot of time and talent went into it, so enjoy!

Opportunities to connect with hundreds of fellow members at various social events
